Home - News - Daily - Three Shorts that made it to the 45th Seattle International Film Festival

 

Umbra (2018) by Saeed Jafarian, Sinecide: No One Believes Me but the Police Are Chasing the Wrong Man (2018) by Ata Mojabi and an animation short Tangle (2019) by Malihe Gholamzade will be in competition at the 45th Academy Awards qualifying SIFF that runs from May 16th – June 9th 2019.

 

According to Raindance ranking of the world’s top short film festivals, SIFF sits among Sundance, SXSW, AFI, Tribeca and many other prestigious festivals in the US.

 

Since its screening at the Festival de Cannes, Umbra has received a lot of international attention on its festival circuit. The story follows a young girl who goes after her missing partner in the middle of the night.

 

With the experimental short Sinecide: No One Believes Me but the Police Are Chasing the Wrong Man, Ata Mojabi showcases his take on Hitchcock’s classic Psycho.

Tangle, which explores post-war traumas, has also been screened at the 10th We Like ‘Em Short Film fest.
